Welcome to the new online home of Mr. Blasberg! As all of my friends will tell you, I’m not the most technologically savvy young person, so please bear with me as I officially join the blogosphere. I guess we can start with the different sections on the site: Derek of the Day; Fast + Louche; From Elsewhere; Observations; and Very Classy. I’ll tell you a little bit about each one in detail here:
.
First, we have Derek of the Day. This idea came after I spent a lazy weekend pouring through my personal iPhoto, feeling glutinous and selfish for having so many pictures of my friends, family and pets — but obviously too lazy to email them to said friends, family and pets. So, every day here on Mr. Blasberg, there will be a new picture from the ole archives.
.
Next up, we have Fast + Louche. That term was applied to my nocturnal activities and international travels by Interview magazine way back in 2009. I liked it so much, and I liked documenting my adventures so much, I’m keeping that feature alive here on the blog.
.
From Elsewhere is pretty self explanatory. This will be pieces that are from, well, elsewhere. I do a weekly Mr. Blasberg’s Best Dressed list for Harper’s Bazaar, so I’m happy to include that here, and then I’ll also include my other stories from my other gig at V magazine and VMan, and whatever other bits and bobs come around.
.
I’ve made a header called Observations because at one point in my life, I hope to gain an objective perspective and make witty, important observations about modern culture. (Don’t hold your breath for too many of these.)
.
And finally, we have Very Classy. For anyone who follows me on Twitter, you’ll know that I’ve recently written a book called Very Classy, which is an expanded, revamped and all new version of Classy, which was a book I wrote last year. (And, if you’ll forgive me this immodest moment, I can happily report hit the New York Times bestsellers list.)
.
So, that’s it. I guess that’s my new life in headers. Happy reading!
