I spent Saturday afternoon watching my third Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in New York City, an annual event I look forward to because it includes many of my favorite things: Champagne, horses and men in expensive leather boots. This year had a few changes. First, because it Governor’s Island was being resod, the venue was Liberty State Park; and second, there was no sit down luncheon; and third, Prince Harry was unable to come this year. (His grandmother was doing a little block party in London to celebrate 60 years of being the bigwig of some island country near Europe or something.) Which was all fabulous in my book because it means a shorter ferry ride, seconds on the buffet line, and the focus returning to the polo player Nacho Figueras, respectively. It was a lovely, sunny day full of bubbly, lounging and polo.
